EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing
A powerful, structured approach to resolving trauma and emotional blocks.
EMDR is a therapy designed to help people recover from upsetting or traumatic experiences that feel “stuck.” When something overwhelming happens, the brain sometimes can’t process it fully, leaving us with memories, emotions, or body sensations that feel just as intense years later.
EMDR helps the brain finish that natural healing process.
During EMDR, you think about a difficult memory while following a back‑and‑forth movement with your eyes (or sometimes tapping or sound). This gentle left‑right stimulation helps the brain reprocess the memory so it becomes less distressing. You still remember what happened — but it stops having the same emotional charge.
People often describe feeling lighter, clearer, and less reactive after EMDR. It can help with trauma, anxiety, phobias, negative self‑beliefs, and experiences that continue to shape how you feel or respond today.
EMDR follows a structured approach that makes sure you’re well‑prepared, supported, and safe at every step of the process. Before any reprocessing happens, we spend time building resources, understanding your story, and making sure EMDR is right for you.
In simple terms: EMDR helps your brain “digest” old experiences so they stop affecting your life in the present.
EMDR Sessions are £110 for 90 minutes.
There are no set number of sessions, although 6-12 sessions is typical.
Clients often report positive results after just one or two sessions.
EMDR can be done both alongside traditional counselling and psychotherapy.
