I offer face-to-face counselling & psychotherapy from my practice East Haddon, along with online and phone sessions.
The counselling and psychotherapy world is full of jargon which can be daunting when you have made an important step in considering seeking support. Please take a look around the site and contact me if you have any questions. I will endeavour to answer any questions you have and put your mind at ease. Support and change is possible, whatever issues you are facing in your life.
So what's the difference between counselling and psychotherapy? Counselling tends to focus on a more immediate issue that may be affecting you. Psychotherapy tends to explore deeper and often more long-held issues and works more holistically.
While I am person-centred trained, I consider myself to be integrative; using a range of interventions to support your individual needs. I include things like creative arts, psychoeducation and some coaching techniques as and when I feel it may be helpful to you. You will always have choice in our sessions as to what we do, and I believe if it brings discomfort then it's probably where the work and growth is!
Please see the 'about me' and 'how I work' pages for more information.
I work with both short term interventions and long term support depending on your requirements. I will work alongside you in a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic way, which will allow you the time and space to explore your feelings and face whatever issues you have to enable you to move forward. I also bring humour to my sessions!
I am passionate about the power of nature to support healing , so where appropriate, I offer nature (outdoor) therapy.
I work with clients on a range of issues including:
Timings & Fees
Our work together is an investment in you and I hope that when we meet you will see my fees reflect the service I provide.
As an accredited therapist this means I have demonstrated that my practice has met the BACP's higher standards as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.
I continue to invest heavily in my own ongoing development and my background in learning and development means I bring additional insight and opportunity for growth.
Each 50 minute session is £75 and I offer some concessions (e.g. Trainees), with payment via bank transfer.
I do not charge for the initial 30 minute consultation.
My working days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
If you cannot make a session for any reason, please let me know and I am happy to rearrange. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, the following cancellation policy applies:
In the rare occurrence I may need to cancel an appointment due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I will notify you as soon as I possibly can. I will also make you aware of any weeks I am unavailable well in advance.
If this all seems to resonate with you, I look forward to hearing from you.
